Comments

Younger children have the opportunity to develop their social skills, interacting and playing with the older children before school.

We sing a selection of nursery rhymes and actions songs.

Children help with the preparation of the snack and self select the items they would like to eat. The children pick a story they would like to hear whilst they eat.

This helps foster a healthy lifestyleand provides the children with the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills. Activites may be undertaken such as leaf collecting for craft activities.

Those requiring a nap have the opportunity to rest. As learning is incorporated into the children's interests we spend the afternoon engaging in their chosen area of play or undertaking activites such as craft or baking, linked into their current interests.

Children have access to both the indoor rooms and the garden. Examples of activities available to the children during this period include; all outdoor toys and equipment, books, puzzles and similar, role play area, building bricks, playdough / sensory play, mark making, computer.
